He qualified as a veterinary surgeon from the Royal (Dick) Veterinary College of the University of Edinburgh in 1984. In 1992 he came to Hong Kong to manage a veterinary clinic. After six years he moved onto the locum circuit in the SAR to allow him time to develop his passion as a dive instructor and underwater photographer. In 2000 he joined the SPCA as an associate veterinary surgeon and became the Director of Veterinary Services in 2002. In 2004 he went back to private to facilitate his postgraduate studies, gaining Membership in the Small Animal Medicine chapter of the Australian College of Veterinary Scientists (MACVSc Small Animal Med.) in 2006. He is interested in all aspects of veterinary science with a particular interest in internal medicine and ultrasonography. He has lectured both in Hong Kong and overseas. Outside work his hobbies include doing triathlons, hiking, photography, baking bread, playing lead guitar in a band and talking a great deal to his cats.

Its hard for me to believe that I have been in this industry for almost a decade now. Looking back, when I graduated from Art & Design College, I never thought I'll become a veterinary Nurse. I had different pets when I was young, but they were all short term as I didn't understand the meaning of responsibility and patience as a owner. Since working as a vet nurse I have come to appreciate the important of being a responsible owner and of long term commitment to a pet. I hope with my experience I can help others and their pets. I have worked with a lot of different veterinarians over the last 10 years and have learned a lot from them.
I have 5 cats at home. Some of them are adopted, some of them I picked up from the street. The eldest one is "Chi Chi", she is already 11 years old. The rest are "Mui Mui", "Stompie", "Tai Wong" & "Ling Lone". No matter how tired I get from work, they always bring me joy and laughter when I see them!

Hi! After living and studying in UK for a decade, I returned to HK in 2004. My passion for animals developed from a very young age. Besides my younger brother, I also grew up with my pet Rottweiler "Fa Fa", and "Mo chu chu", my domestic short hair cat.
Being able to help and work with animals gives me satisfaction and fulfills my childhood dreams. So I began to do volunteer work for Hong Kong Dog Rescue during my free time - I feel it`s the least I can do to give them the TLC they deserve!
The more time I spent with animals, the more involved I got, so eventually I decided to take a big step forward – to change from being a nurse in a human clinic to becoming a veterinary nurse. So, here I am, being part of the team!
I love sport almost as much as I love animals, from snowboarding to wakeboarding, and most of all, scuba diving. However, my free time for my hobbies has become limited ever since "Mochi", my Maine Coon kitten, has intruded into my life - she wants all my attention!
